Career Summary Of A Dietician Essay -- essays research papers

RESEARCH & FACTS The career I researched was that of a dietician. Someone who wishes to become a dietician must first obtain a bachelor’s degree, which would be considered a minimal requirement. Most dieticians will tell you that it would be within the best interests of a student wishing to become a dietician to get a master’s degree. Dieticians must have a love for science (chemistry in particular) and algebra as these skills are practiced routinely in the profession. It would also be a good idea for someone wishing to become a dietician to take some kind of accounting or book-keeping class, as dieticians must work on and file multiple records for each of their patients.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  To become a dietician you must be willing to research every day. New scientific breakthroughs are made on a regular basis that are constantly changing the shape of the practice. Dieticians must also be willing to regularly meet with patients and physicians to accurately determine if their current dietary plan is working or not and what steps they should take to reach their final goal. Hospital dieticians correspond with the kitchen staff to make sure healthy diets are supplied for each patient in the hospital, as well as on an individual level.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  In a hospital environment there are typically a group of dieticians to handle all of the inpatient diets. These dieticians in turn answer to their department manager, who works under a chairman. In the dietary department there are also several filing and appointment clerks who help the dieticians to manage their work and keep them on track. These clerks are required because of the high-volume of work a hospital dietician is responsible for. Even though dieticians must regularly meet with patients and physicians, schedules for dieticians are very loose, and they can usually pick their own hours as long as they are at work for a certain amount of time each week.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Dieticians are typically very friendly and social people. In the mornings, a dietary department will usually spend an hour or so casually talking about their current cases or new dietary breakthroughs. As a dietician I would make a good amount of money, and could find work almost anywhere in the country. I would also be able to feed my love for science and researching skills. The only problem I could find with becoming a dietician is that I am a very mechanical person. This has been proven by the tests, but it is also backed by my own beliefs. Unfortunately, there is little hands-on physical work to be done by dietitians. Perhaps I could volunteer to rearrange the furniture once a week.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Educationally I am on the right path. In several weeks I will graduate high school with almost thirty college credit hours. I will need to take more chemistry, biology, and math classes. Othello protagonist Essay

The protagonist of the play, Othello is a man trapped by his own weaknesses rather than a victim of circumstance. Even though the situations that Othello finds himself in are not ideal and contribute to his downfall, it is his own fatal flaws that end up destroying him. In act 3 scene 3 Iago starts to plant a seed of doubt in Othello’s mind about his wife Desdemona and her infidelity. Iago proceeds to ask Othello, â€Å"Did Michael Cassio, when you wooed my lady, know of you love? † This question immediately causes Othello to become suspicious. Iago then follows with a series of rhetorical questions that enrage Othello as well increase the doubt that is building up in his mind. By the end of this scene we see one of Othello’s weaknesses present itself, jealousy. This particular flaw becomes one of the major contributions to Othello’s downfall. By the end of the play jealousy has clouded his judgment and taken over his perspective on everything. At first Othello insists that he needs proof of the alleged affair but quickly changes his mind. â€Å"Must be to loathe her. O curse of marriage.Act 4 scene 1, Iago informs Othello that Desdemona and Cassio have slept together and he has seen that she has given Cassio the handkerchief Othello gave her when they first fell in love. All this news that Iago keeps telling him sends Othello off into a rant, â€Å"Is’t possible? – Confess? Handkerchief? O devil! †After this his falls into a trance. This is the moment when all Othello’s insecuriti es, fears and aversions as well as the obvious lack of judgment that a leader is assumed to have combine to create this kind of epileptic fit. In this scene stage directions are used to help the reader understand what is going on for a dramatic effect. Two of Othello’s flaws that cause this downfall are passion and gullibility. These feelings enabled Iago fill his head with lies that caused him to get so worked up that he lost control. In act 5 scene 1 Iago had convinced Othello that he would kill Cassio and that Othello had to kill Desdemona. Othello begins this scene with a soliloquy, reflecting and attempting to justify his decision to kill her. Othello refers to Desdemona as light. â€Å"Put out the light and then put out he light†. So sweet we ne’er so fatal. †Othello describes how she was so sweet but her actions caused so much pain. Before he kills her, Othello makes sure she has prayed or confessed so that she will go to heaven. â€Å"I will not kill thy unprepared spirit. †Othello’s blind faith in Iago is the flaw that leads all his other weaknesses to rise to the surface an d in the end the inevitable happens. Othello, once a great man, falls. Desdemona speak for one last time in the play. â€Å"A guiltless death I die. † This quote enforces the reality of what has just taken place. This innocent woman was a victim because of another man’s weakness. In this play it is clear what jealousy and misguided trust can do to a person. These weaknesses, along with others, are the reason for Othello’s downfall. Each flaw produced another weakness or doubt. The fact that Othello was manipulated to be part of Iago’s plan for revenge only accelerated the speed of his demise. The fatal mix of passion, jealousy, insecurity as well as how easily he could be manipulated caused Othello to be a man snared by his own weaknesses.

We have taken the necessary actions to gain accreditation by the NHBRC and Master builders association and are currently awaiting evaluations by them to take place. Once accreditation takes place our business plan is to compete and try to work with insurance companies (Evaluation, building and rectification works). This should provide consistence sustainable works to keep cash flow stimulated and employees with consistent jobs. All while other private sector works shall commence with the focus of tending towards new works development as opposed to existing work maintainace and development. This type of work is more desirable as it may be considered bigger and less tedious work. It may also giver a greater true reflection of volumes constructions quality of work. Investors and share holder may be a better means of developing capital funds. Pending on future circumstances this may be considered a viable option and may cut the need for credit systems. Thus we are currently without a credit profile. Due to the smaller sized jobs and systems that we have in place we have not made use of any credit systems. As this is a sole pty ltd company we would like to stay out of any credit systems to ensure a low risk business for the owner and investor. Some systems we have implemented to ensure a steady cash flow and cut out the need to make use of credit systems are such as. We have weekly works monitoring and completion evaluations to ensure a steady cash flow and rapid work rate by employees. Thus the clients pay us as sections are completed. We require a deposited, varying on the size of works for the initiation off works to ensure peace of mind payment by the client also making funds available for the project. This reducing the strain or capital investment that we as Volume Construction may be required to perform. We sign all clients exceeding R10 000.00 into a contract to ensure payments of works performed. Share holders and investors may be considered a better option. When we transition into the public sector of construction we are hoping to have enough built up capital to be able to perform works without the use of credit systems. We would rather turn down work, than run the risk that credit systems may impose. A slow and steady growth may run the risk of turning work away, however in the construction market where it is constantly fluctuating and changing it is important to not be forced into situations where the sustainability of the company is critically dependent on consistent work. Many companies have failed due to trying to expand rapidly and once the market drops off they are unable to ride out the drop in the market due to the owing of money as well as interest due. STRATEGY Our strategy and plan of action is to set goals and try to achieve constantly make market related plans in order to achieve them. Some of our time line goals Year Plan: Become a registered company with the Master builders association Brand and market the company such as develop a logo, brand vehicles, create a company webpage, etc. Invest profits back into the company to build up machinery. 2 Year Plan: Become a National Home Builder Association Member. Purchase another company vehicle to be able to have more mobile teams(Planning to purchase a vehicle in cash as to cut out the cost and long term strains of paying a vehicle off) Develop a maintainace division working as a separate unit. (The maintenance of ongoing sites such as complexes). Develop a painting division working as a separate unit. 5 Year Plan: Develop a repeat customer cliental Develop into a company that has the capability to build industrial developments not just working in the home builders market. Obtaining heavy machinery such as bobcats, tippers, cranes, and excavators. Obtain premises to work from, store machinery and materials, as well as manufacture goods. Apply for a BEE rating Exceed a turnover of R10 000 000.00 a year 10 Year Plan: Build a company that has the facilities and equipment abilities to perform most works in the construction field. We would also like to be able to have the capital ability to create our own work and developments that we could rent or sell to others. (Such as the building of warehouses and houses). We would like to create our own plumbing and electrical division in our company to be able to do all private works without subcontracting works. Compete for Government works.
